Patient Confidentiality and Privacy




    It is UNACCEPTABLE to:



  • Discuss patient issues in public areas.

  • Discuss patience issues with patience in a curtained area.

  • Leave charts exposed in public area.

  • Leave patience information on computer screens, when you leave your work area.

  • Leave test results in public areas.

  • Release any information either written, electronically or verbally without prior written consent from the patient.

  • Remove any patient’s records from the office without consent.

  • Have telephone conversations on patients issue without being in a private area.
